O coronel foi um dos alvos de prisão da PF. A operação, autorizada pelo ministro Alexandre de Moraes, do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), apura se a cúpula da PMDF foi omissa nos atos golpistas de 8 de janeiro. Além de Klepter Rosa Gonçalves, também é alvo da operação o ex-comandante da corporação coronel Fábio Augusto Vieira.</p>
<p class="texto">Estão sendo cumpridos sete mandados de prisão e cinco de busca e apreensão. Klepter assumiu o maior cargo da PMDF durante a intervenção federal, após os ataques aos prédios dos Três Poderes, em 8 de janeiro. Nos atos, Klepter era subcomandante-geral da PMDF. </p>
<p class="texto">Em junho, o militar foi ouvido pela Comissão Parlamentar de Inquérito (I) da Câmara Legislativa que investiga os atos golpistas de 8 de janeiro. </p>
